Happy 2nd Birthday Pawsha!

Today is a special day in a dog's world. It's Pawsha's birthday! She is 2 and sweet as ever. No big plans, just the dog park and maybe a frozen ice cream treat later. Perhaps this weekend we will take a mini road trip and go hiking to the waterfalls. We'll keep you posted.

Birthday Vacation

We just got back from a nice little birthday weekend in Asheville, NC. We stayed at Hotel Indigo, which is a brand new hotel in Asheville with super comfy beds. And, for $50, they are dog friendly too!

On Friday night we dined at The Lobster Shack, which I would not recommend because I got VERY sick, but I was back to almost 100% the next morning. We hiked with the pups at Bent Creek. They got a chance to play in the water and trees and were so exhausted by the time we were done. It's nice when we go hiking because the pups run about 4 times the amount that we humans do. They run out and then turn around and run back to us (repeat, repeat, repeat).

During our exploration of downtown, we soon realized that walking a few blocks with the pups was no easy task. EVERY one stopped us to ask what kind of dogs we have. Or, if they did know that they are wheatens, they would want to stop and talk about the wheatens that they know. (This is funny to me because, I've never seen a lab owner get stopped repeatedly because they own a lab.)

Anyway, we met some super nice people along the way. I think that I will become a Wheaten Broker and get a cut of the selling price for referring people to breeders. I guarantee you I could become rich this way!

We stopped at Sante wine bar where they had outdoor seating. There we found a lovely bunch of girls who decided that Pawsha and Koonsley were the bees knees. Pawsha was so tired, but took it like a champ. She let the girls put their scarfs and purses around her neck. They loved and hugged her (alot). And she even sat a few times (on command). The girls' parents were thrilled that they had found a free sitter even though it was only long enough for a glass of wine and some cheese.

We had a delicious dinner at Cucina24. The atmosphere was romantic and the food was delicious! I would definitely recommend dining here at least once in your lifetime. They have homemade pasta and organic ingredients that are super fresh and tasty.

For those of you who were wondering, we got Pawsha in Missouri and we got Koonsley from a family breeder in Nashville, TN. Tracy and Eric Sender are wonderful people who love their wheatens! I just got off the phone with Tracy and she said that it looks like there will be puppies in April, and ready to go home in July. You can email her at senderfamily@aol.com for more info. Let her know that I referred you because I am working my way up to a free puppy:)
